How the SIS Milano-Basiglio primary school Open Evening works
On 3 December, from 18.00 to 20.00, we welcome you to our Basiglio campus, just minutes from Milan. We chose an evening slot so both parents can attend: in two hours you will see how bilingual immersion works, meet our Italian and English native-speaker teachers and tour classrooms, labs and shared spaces. We will show you how the Italian curriculum and the international SIS perspective come together to build independence, critical thinking and curiosity.

Welcome and introduction

Family welcome and registration. The Principal opens the evening by presenting the values SIS is built on: academic excellence, immersive bilingualism and close attention to each child's personal growth.

How we combine the Italian curriculum with the international SIS perspective: co-teaching with native-speaker educators, daily immersion in Italian and English, continuous assessment and learning paths shaped around each student's pace.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about the Open Evening and admissions
My child does not speak one or both of the school's languages (Italian and English). Can I still enrol them?
Yes. At SIS Swiss International School children learn both Italian and English through our immersive method, even when neither is their mother tongue. Our schools offer Italian and English courses outside lesson hours, or intensive courses during school hours depending on the year group. The cost of these additional language lessons is included in the school fees.
What is the minimum age for enrolment?
Children can be enrolled from the age of six.
Will the school also offer Kindergarten and Secondary levels?
The Milano-Basiglio primary school is the first SIS Swiss International School in Italy, and at this stage we are focusing on this level. Our goal is to extend our offering in Italy to include Kindergarten and Secondary school.
Do I need to book to attend the Open Evening?
Yes. Attendance is free, but places are limited: fill in the form on this page and you will receive confirmation by email.
Can I bring my children even though the event is in the evening?
Yes. We run dedicated activities for children throughout the evening, so you can follow the presentation and the tour without worrying.
